The name “The Lighthouse” was given to this ministry by the Holy Spirit. Many may ask: What is a lighthouse, and who is a lighthouse?
According to the Webster Dictionary, a lighthouse is a tall, permanent structure equipped with a usually revolving beacon light, designed to warn ships of danger—rocks, shores, and hazards—especially at night or in times of fog. It is a distinctive structure built on or near a shore, displaying a light with unique characteristics to serve as an aid to navigation.
Spiritually, as we journey through the sea of life, we also need a tall, permanent structure equipped with a distinctive light—one that warns us of imminent dangers, pitfalls, and destructive paths along the way.
Jesus Is Our Lighthouse
Jesus Christ is our Lighthouse.
He knows the way. The charts and maps for our journey are in His hands (John 12:46; John 14:6). As we turn to Him for guidance and protection, we will not be drowned by the waves and storms of life.
Jesus Himself declared in John 8:12:
“I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is able to take us from where we are in our marriages and family life to where we ought to be. The Lord is the LIGHTHOUSE in the life of every Christian.
The Family and the Sea of Life
The life of a Christian often resembles a ship navigating rough seas—waves of trials, storms of adversity, and rocks of tribulation. The beacon of light is the Word of God, directing each vessel toward a safer and more worthy destination.
Yet, strong currents and raging waters constantly tempt the vessel to turn away from the light, to travel recklessly through the darkness toward destruction. This temptation can only be overcome by placing complete faith in the Lord’s beacon and allowing Jesus to be the Captain of the soul and the home.
Why Family Matters
This ministry was birthed by God as a Resource Center for teaching, training, and equipping men and women to develop healthy families that will positively impact society.
A society is only as strong as its families. As Abraham Lincoln once said:
“The strength of a nation lies in the homes of its people.”
Raising a family today is increasingly complex. While many people desire strong marriages and godly families, they often lack the understanding of how to make it happen.
The Bible begins in Genesis with the marriage of a man and a woman and ends in Revelation with the marriage of Christ and His Bride—the Church. Between these two sacred unions, God provides timeless blueprints for marriage and family life. When followed with humility, obedience, and meekness, these principles lead to healthy, God-honoring families.
Our Conviction
Many people proclaim that family values are important, yet only a few truly understand what biblical family values are. A strong family system built on godly values produces a strong church and, ultimately, a strong nation.
Sadly, even as Christians, we have sometimes denied biblical truth about the family by the way we live. Our desire, therefore, is to live—by the help of the Holy Spirit—according to the principles laid out in God’s Word, and to intentionally pass them on to the next generation so that Jesus may be honored and glorified in our homes.
A Call to This Generation
We believe the family—man, woman, and children as ordained by God—is under attack from every direction. These attacks must be countered by intentional efforts within the Body of Christ through biblical teaching, prayer, support, and discipleship, so that a legacy of faith can be passed on to the next generation.
Jesus is our Lighthouse.
His light still shines.
His Word still guides.
And His design for the family still stands.
